Today began a two day plein air painting event around town, though most participants were along the river walk or parks. These South Jersey artists are so fuckin' anal with their landscape painting it's ridiculous. If I were a musician, and know many, there would be no sense in doing endless variations of the same song indefinitely. It would seem to me that the target audience would not be interested in such hackneyed bullshit. I'm not a landscaper (as a few of us ave begun to call them), though I don't summarily object to any subject matter of good composition... but, these lighthouse and duck pond fixated only serve to trivialize the community--particularly th Arts Center. I don't want my dues and efforts and expended funds to court patrons from the affluent shore points, Philadelphia, and beyond if the walls are going o be continuously cluttered with that same song.
