this weekend was about 50% amazing and 50% painfully bad.
saturday, i ran a checkpoint for an alley cat bike race here in columbus. my friend annemarie and i got the best checkpoint of all of them because ours was on the loading dock of the spaghetti warehouse. before the race started, we got shots at the bar and ordered take out food so we spend the rest of the time eating delicious foods and checking off manifestos for some of our friends and colleagues riding in the race. i had to ride not one but two borrowed bikes. on the up side, i am soon going to be in possession of a bianchi pista track frame so soon after that i am going to have a pretty serious bike. there was also a pretty sweet after party with a lot of free beer and dancing. 501Blue also had his birthday party that weekend, but by the time i got there i was way too tired to enjoy myself too much or stay too long. also, on the plus side of the weekend, ryan got third place in the race----even after being hit by a car he still managed to school most of the columbus bike scene.
on to the badness.....my best friend just ended her relationship of seven years. her boyfriend/fiance left on saturday night, likely in the middle of me being out and having so much fun. she is doing well, but i feel so much pain for her. i can barely remember a time that the two of them weren't together and he was such an integral part of everyones lives.....so so weird. like i said, she is doing well, but that doesn't lessen the loss.
i guess it does in fact go to show that nothing lasts forever.

Congrats on being better than expected on a 2 wheeled travel device.
