So, hopefully, won't be a busy week. The boss won't back until next week, because he had neck surgery done to relieve some neck pain, and J (senior admin) will be out for a week starting Thursday to attend her sister's wedding. So, Thursday and Friday, will be me and H (the other admin). Damn, I hoped it won't be busy. Sure, H has some more knowledge than me and has more certifications, but I've noticed he doesn't seem to be able to apply that knowledge. But, he's great at help desk tasks. J "hates" stupid people (what she mentioned during my interview), and H is usually the first to respond to the simple help desk requests. Oh, and then there's the possible BART strike. And it might end up me being as the IT staff during Thursday and Friday. Well, there's D, the DB programmer contracter, at least he'll take care of anything that has to do with databases and SQL servers. And oh yeah, everyone's hauling a blackberry so I could at least e-mail for help. Though, I don't think J would have a blackberry pinned to her bridesmaid dress. She's not that geeky. Or is she.

That is a really good idea, and totally what I'd do if my monitor wasn't a 24" Sony GDM FW900. I found a shop on the other side of town who will fix it for $150, so that isn't too bad and will leave me with something better than I could buy new or used.
I'm totally a fix-it don't toss it environmentalist kind of girl anyway. I like to buy old quality stuff and keep it up rather than replacing cheap new stuff. I drive a really old Mercedes, have a house with the original olive green apliances and walnut stained everything and have recovered my sofas and refinished my furniture several times since buying it second hand. I just feel better about stuff when I can put a little of myself into it and know I saved it from a landfill.
I think that's probably pretty normal.....
when I went to vegas for bond con a few years ago, My friend and I played on the poles on the shuttle on the way to baggage claim.....
