Some kinda big news: my boy and I are planning on going to Holland on a working holiday. Won't be happening til at least the end of next year, unless we decide to just go there for a holiday first. But we've started the early planning stuff, learning some of the language and things like that. I already speak close to fluent German, and Dutch is reasonably similar so I think I should be able to catch on fairly quickly.
My boyfriend's dad was dutch, which is part of the reason he particularly wants to go to holland. Also because he can't get a work visa since he's over 30, but he might be able to get dual citizenship. If he can't, then we won't be able to work there, we'll just have to go for a holiday. Either way, hopefully we'll be making our way over to Europe sometime in the next couple of years.
Pretty exciting, I haven't been overseas since 2004 and he's never been out of Australia. So hopefully it actually happens. I don't know, I always have trouble believing that things are actually going to happen, unless I plan the whole thing myself and have complete control over it. I think it has something to do with the fact that when I was a kid my dad always used to make plans for us to do stuff, and they always fell through. I learned to expect to be let down.
