Last day of summer. I loved it but I'm definitely looking forwards to the cooler months.

Summer memories from this year:

- Watching a huge late afternoon storm through our sliding glass doors, half afraid, half excited, as it snapped fully-grown gum trees in half, illuminated by strobe-like lightning

- Drinking watermelon and vodka slushies on Christmas Day, then falling asleep in the afternoon to the sound of rain on the roof

- Swimming at Hervey Bay in the late afternoon as stormclouds built up over the land; it's about the only beach where i feel safe swimming

- Adopting my gorgeous pet rat Charlie

- Having my quarter-sleeve extended to a half-sleeve and the pain that comes with having just above your elbow tattooed

- Watching every episode of Family Guy over and over again

- The happiness, relief and excitement after opening the letter saying I'd been accepted into my course at uni, and realising I could leave my job

- Disgustingly hot car trips because my car has no aircon

- Mangoes... mmmm...
