So, it turns out that one of the rats IS a girl. *sigh*
My boyfriend was playing with them and he was like, 'um are you sure they are both boys? Cos this one really looks like a girl.'

(he used to have a female pet rat)

so i took them both back into the pet shop yesterday, and sure enough, it turns out Bruno is a girl. So they let me swap her for another boy rattie. Seems kinda mean i know, but i can't keep a pair cos they can have a litter every single month, theoretically, once they are six weeks old. And each litter can have between 8 and 20 babies.

So i now have 2 rats who are both DEFINITELY boys (i got the pet shop owner to check). The new rattie's name is Nugget, and he is a pale orangey-cream colour. He's actually a lot more friendly towards me than Bruno was, and Pickle seems to like him more too.

Right now they are both asleep in my pocket. Awwwwww...
