So me and my sweetie just returned from watching the UFC 111 fight tonight. We were there with my boss, coworkers, and random people that I'm sure someone invited. It was good fun and plenty of drinks, a wonderful night indeed. Except no one is happy with how the main event turned out.
Double you, tee eff. Dan Hardy is a great fighter. He's definitely proven that he can hold his own. Georges St. Pierre (from now on GSP) is also a great fighter who has managed to hold his own for years now. But when the two of them got in the ring together it was just... wtfoverhuhomgwha? Hardy gained a lot of respect in my eyes because he wasn't submitted by GSP. He wasn't knocked out by GSP. He wasn't TKO'ed by GSP. He was able to manipulate his shoulder to the point where GSP was left fucking confused. He really shined.
But GSP on the other hand. Dude, what are you doing? Great, your takedowns are second to none. Congrats, now do something interesting once you get him down!!! I demand to see them fight again. Which admittedly isn't hard because there's very few contenders at that weight class.
But seriously, it was a good fight. I'm sad that Hardy did not win, but I understand the judge's reasoning, so I'm not mad. But I am mad that GSP wouldn't stand up and fight. He was afraid, he's a stand-up fighter who would rather roll with Hardy than stand. That says something.
I know I speak for myself and many others when I say I cannot wait to see them fight again. This time with Hardy boosting his takedown defense.

The fight card was pretty good I think, however, Im glad GSP retained his title. I did gain a large amount of respect for Dan Hardy though.
