For the first time in my Mac-using career, I have cursed and sweared and altogether damned my poor little iMac to hell.
Why?
Because the bloody thing almost made me lose a script. For some reason, Word couldn't save it anymore and kept telling me I didn't have enough space (I know my harddrive is nearly full, but you would think that over 100 mb would be enough to save a 125 kb Word file). In utter desperation, I rebooted the computer, praying the script would still be there.
It was. With the final scene missing.
But that wasn't the most of my worries. My dock had replaced itself to the center of my screen, and was missing several vital programs (Messenger, Word, and Final Draft amongst others). All of the programs (except Messenger, how odd...) were still on my harddrive ready to be placed in the dock again, but still... It gave me quite a scare.
Mac OSX is pretty virus-safe, but nevertheless I downloaded a freeware virusscanner that is now scanning the whole damn 12gb that is my iMac. So far, it hasn't found anything. *fingers crossed*
Please please please, my dear little 2nd generation iMac which I love so dearly, don't ever do this to me again or I'll be forced to turn you into a Macaquarium! (http://japan.cnet.com/2004/sharedmedia/photo/041215_mac/041215_mac5.jpg)
UPDATE: "No infected files found". *sigh of relief* But then how the hell did this happen? Is my little Maccie possessed by the devil?
