OK, I promised my next post would be more positive, so here it is.
I have been a huge fan of fantasy artwork for quite some time. Right next to horror, fantasy is my favorite genre. I remember not long ago, watching the Lord of the Rings bonus disc and seeing some of the artists who worked on the art production and designs for the movie. One of them really stood out to me, and that was John Howe. I loved his vision so much, I wanted nothing more than to jump into the paintings he made and live there forever.
So anyhoo, I just did a search for his artwork on Yahoo Images and saved a bunch of his awesome artwork to my pictures folder. I put them in a folder on my computer, so check them out and see his brilliance! Go now!
And another reason to be happy, this Friday I am going to see the Metallica. OK, so not the real Metallica, but a supposedly perfect Metallica cover band called Battery. Its said that Lars Ulrich (that little fucker!) once claimed they sounded more like Metallica than Metallica sounded like Metallica. Since the the good ol' thrashy Metallica is all but dead, maybe these guys will be the next best thing to seeing the original live. I'll update as to whether they are good or not. Here's hoping they are, because the last time I saw a live show on TV of Metallica, James was acting all silly and stupid during Fade to Black, which is certainly not a song to act silly to.
OK, now I am going to go and read some of the new comic books I got. The stack of the unread is just gettin bigger and bigger all the time. It's time to trim it down some.
