Well, it's been awhile since I said anything worth reading. Not sure if this will be, but here it goes.
IT'S FUCKING HOT IN GEORGIA!
someone please turn on the A/C!
SIL has been with us for a week, she has a nack of hiding things from her folks, she's 20 and in college and living at home. I would have killed for the advantages she is being given. Yet she still is in the "all about me" stage. She wanted a snake, mom & dad say no, she gets one anyway and hides it in her armoure (SP?).
They find out two days before they leave for vacation, she stays with us because they cannot trust her to make the right choices on her own. I don't mind her being here, she's the only thing to a sister I've had and protection mode has activated. She is on her third loser boyfriend. I've hinted that she could set her sights higher than the bottom of the barrel, but it falls on deaf ears.
I really want her to know how much I'm dedicated to helping her advance in life faster than I did by not making the same mistakes, yet I haven't found the words or patience yet. I think I'm out of my league here and need some advice. My wife is caught in the middle of being the sympathetic sister and the logical adult. Her advise is to be ther when she falls. MY point, don't allow her to fall in the first place.
Any advice on how to communicate to a 20 yr old woman just starting to get a glimpse of real life, would be greatly appreciated.
I've used up my playbook and need new tatics.
All things considered, life is good.
