Thanks @fredhincanada for the great idea, and @kiley for putting me onto it!
Tell us about one of your favorite songs of all time.
At any given time, I tend to have 2-3 favorite songs: there's my favorite song of all time, and my favorite song(s) of the moment.
A moment might be a day, a week, months, or even up to a year. Often my preference for my favorite of the moment supercedes my preference for favorite of all time but....favorite of all time remains constant π.
My favorite song of all time is 99 Red Balloons by Nena. It's the perfect mix of fun catchy bop, timeless political commentary, and nerdy references. Did I mention catchy bop? If you ever need to slide down the hallway in your socks while dancing alone and doing your laundry - it's really hard to beat 99 Red Balloons (granted, Dancing with Myself is right up there too).

A few of my recent favorite songs of the moment are:
Stranger by Dirtwire - kind of power ballad, kind of classic rock, kind of country, slapping bass line. Great song to run to. But seriously. That beat. CALL ME RENEGADE.
Last Last Time by Boys Go to Jupiter - 80's power ballad meets contemporary pop with one hell of a hook. Try not to sing along to this in the car! I dare you!!
Complex by Katie Gregson-MacLeod - soulful indie self-reflection on loving someone more than they love you, totally not relatable at all. Yeah. Just really beautiful. The way she sings "I need him like water" π©
God Damned Beautiful by The Scarlet Opera - another 80's ballad-esque contemporary pop ode to the self. Need a pick me up? Here's your song. Also great to run to.
Lily by Benjamin Gibbard - just in case you need a lil indie boy to help you believe in love again with a sweet and simple but poetic song. Lily's the Pacific Ocean and you're standing on her shore? Fuck yeah she is and fuck yeah you are.
Sorry. That was way more than one song. In my defense, sharing music with friends is a love language π.
