A quick check in and photo dump from the Pacific Crest Trail! Mostly photos bc I don't have tons of time to write much (limited cell service, and I'm tired).
The trail is amazing! I feel like I was made to do this. I'm a bit over 300 miles (and 500 kilometers) in. Everything is beautiful, the views and people I'm meeting are incredible. It's a gift to be doing this. Even the lows (hurt my knee when a trail runner knocked into me, ripped my rain fly, etc π ) have been important and good in their own way - so many things happening to create an experience that would be different if anything about it changed.
Because of the knee issue (it's mostly better now, and has been seen by a physical therapist who has assured me there's no structural damage and I'm not only fine to continue hiking, but it should get stronger as I go), I have been going at a slower pace than I expected but still averaging around 18 miles a day which is more than fine, especially this early on.
I also recently celebrated my birthday on trail!!! Missing some of my favorite people, but one of the best birthdays I've ever had.
also! Trail Names are a tradition on through hikes but typically other hikers have to give you your name (you can decline ones you don't like, but aren't really meant to pick your own). I was given the trail name Zelda, which I'm stoked about!!!
Aaaannnddd now photo dump!
ππ much love - see you up trail!
