you notice the look on people's faces when you wish them a merry christmas?
some smile...others seem shocked...others get offended...those who get offended are the ones that suprise me...although i understand where they are coming from...
ever since 9/11 we have gone from patriotism and friendship, to mistrust and suspicion...especially in the realm of religion...
it has almost become a crime to say you are a religion other than Christianity...making Christmas a reminder of that fact...
so i just wanted to take this entry and apologize herein for any offense i may caused...and that it was not my intention to offend...
but to say hi with a big smile, in a unintrusive manner...
and to pershaps show that life can be good, that life IS good..
because, you see, when i say Merry Christmas, i don't think of Christ...
I think of movies like 'it's a wonderful life' and stories like " a christmas carol"...I think of fireplaces, and scarves...i think of poeple surrounded by friends and family forgetting about work, and bills, and just laughing...l think of the mother trying to buy a bag of groceries to feed her small children but couldn't because of the little money she had...and the store owner who said it was all right...
i think of a kid in high school, helping some old lady cross the street (you'd be surprised how often that comes up)...
things that don't necessarily happen on christmas...but happen irregardless...
when i say merry christmas... i think of how wonderful life could be...
