it may not be fair to all the authors patiently waiting on my shelf, but i had to start "breakfast of champions" over the weekend. after a hundred pages, i think it's one of the funniest books i've ever read. the illustrations by the author add to the nonsense. so far the drawing of the bomb "good bye blue monday" is my favorite.
all morning long i looked out the window thinking, man i don't want to run in this. it didn't let up all day. about 3 inches of new snow on the trail, covering up a layer of ice hidden underneath. the elements really slowed me down today but at least i made it w/o falling on my ass.

i'm not sure the fire really does anything to chemically alter the absinthe but damn it sure is pretty.
i was so lucid and in control, in ways that i never would have been if i had been drinking straight liquor.
oh yeah and the kissing was pretty phenomenal too...
