Well I finally finished Dr No it was actually harder to read that I thought it would be, it was a little boring and predictable, and it is amazing how popular culture has changed over the last 50 years. The writing was racist, sexist and pretty much the thinking was very far removed from what is happening today. The writing is very colonial. I did enjoy getting some glimpse in to the psyche of my grandparents.
I decided to read something better A farewell to arms by Hemmingway, I need to read something with a bit of substance, where I can literally taste the imagery. I cant wait for the end of the month there is a second hand book shop in Hillcrest and they must have plus minus a million books, makes most libraries look empty, it is the most amazing place from R35 (about $5) a book so here is my shopping list, I want to get some Philp K Dick , John Barth and some Georges Bataille. It is time to broaden my mind to wherever it takes me. Whoohoo.
I hope you all have a wonderful day
