I saw a guy today wearing pants that were made from what looked like a section of one my school's chapel confessional booths red velvet curtains. Im positive thats where they were from. Anyone who had been a senior when I was would have been certain. We loved those curtains. In the afternoon, right after lunch, when all the daily services were long over and after classes had begun, those cozy little booth-like confessional rooms, with the padded kneeler that could easily and quietly be pushed up against the wall and made into a nice little comfortable seat, was a perfect place to disappear to and just kind of zone out and clear your head. Everybody knew about them. The faculty and staff and everyone didnt have a clue but every senior enjoyed heading off to them, at least once in awhile. The nuns and priests rarely took attendance and were honestly just so out of it and unaware that it was pretty easy to just slip out of class for awhile and duck into the chapel and go into one of those booths and zone out and relax for a while. If you werent careful, you could easily fall asleep and miss the final bell, have no ride home and end up kind of wandering along the narrow, poorly-lit road that lead through the woods to and from the school, hoping with all your might, against any rational odds, that someone would just spot you as they drove by and give you a ride. So you had to be careful in there. Those little confessionals were so dark and quiet and off-the-beaten-track at that time of day, in the middle of the afternoon, you really had to fight not to let yourself fall into that deep a sleep. If you took off your blazer and a made a little pillow for yourself and kind of lay on the floor of the booth, forget it. You might as well plan on being there long after the school was all locked up and dark and the parking lot empty. At least if that did happen, you could shower in the locker room. At least the next morning you wouldnt appear like you slept on the floor of one of those cozy, warm little confessional booths.

I am sharing them with folks, and people are reading them.
I am trying to get my friend Tracey to hookup with you and get her writing in her journal and us commenting in each others' journal and I would like to form a little virtual circle here. But she has the babies and everybody is busy, so I am trying to comment in your journal, and I will make a better effort to write in mine. Maybe the wave will spread.
