I NEED HELP!!!!!

OK so I've wanted to get tattoos since I got out of high school. At first I just didn't know what I wanted or where I wanted to get it but then I was a poor college student and couldn't afford anything. Now I'm not really too concerned with the cost I'm just trying to get some ideas. A couple directions that I'd like to go would be probably something somewhat basic to start. Either something to build off of or something smaller and then get something bigger after that. I'm thinking something Tool inspired or the APC symbol. Also I'm a huge fan of my college, the Kansas Jayhawks. Other than that, I'm open to ideas and any awesome designs or places to look for ideas to see if I can find something to go on would be great. As far as where I would want to get my tattoo, I'm thinking inside of my arm(s), upper back/shoulders area.

One other thing...any badass places/people I should go to for my tattoo in the Philly/Jersey area???
