Over the weekend a friend of mine called me. We trained in martial arts together and are good friends, he's got a degree in English, I believe. He's adapted a screenplay to be a play, and has a director and is ready to get it rolling. Well, I'd talked to him some time ago, he knows I had at one time been a theater arts major in college (but I switched majors) and of course he knows I train in martial arts; he had asked me if I'd wanted to be in the play awhile back. He called because I'd been at the Dojo and asked about him and the play. He said he got kind of excited when he heard I was asking about the play, so he called me to see if I was still interested. Long story short, if all goes well, I will audition October 10th, mainly so that the co-director can see me and hear me. January are rehearsals and April the play begins its run.
I don't want to go into too much detail here about the play, because it really is something that belongs to my friend; but the play involves martial arts and I will likely be a villain. If there are pictures taken, and I hope there are, I will post them. My sister's a photographer, I'm going to see if she can take pictures. Otherwise, I'm sure someone will. I've been excited about the whole thing and I'm hoping it all goes well.
