Today at work I had to explain to a Christian preacher that U.S. troops do not belong in the Middle East.
Our country was based on Christianity such say the dollar bill, "In God We Trust". The first time the Christians went over there was to solve a conflict, and they got their asses kicked in the Holy Crusades. Now we are over there solving a conflict with religious radicals...
The preacher got pissed made a remark about us showing them the way. So I looked him dead in the eyes and said, " To some people, their religions mean more to them than a couple bucks in a hat on Sundays..." He then shut up, looked at the floor, and walked away.
I hate the vale that is draped over the eyes of someone who follows with out question. It turns ignorance to bliss, and then to a stupid look on their face when proven wrong... The stupid look is priceless though.
The middle East has been fighting for centuries, there is no resolution to solve their squabble. Nor do they want one. Neither of them want to give up, so it will go on until the end of time. Or until one nukes the other.
Christianity might have started there, but now here is no place there for it. Especially if the rule is to love your neighbor... Unless they changed it to "Love your neighbor like a bullet in the head..." I mean who doesn't love that, come on.
