An urban legend that is sure i remember is the Japanese legend of "Kuchisake-onna" also inspired various horror films, one of these, certainly more known, is "Carved" ...
The legend tells of the beautiful wife of a samurai. The samurai was aware of the beauty of the woman, and constantly feared his infidelity. One day, the man discovered that his wife had betrayed him, and so, in anger, took his katana and gutted her mouth opening it from ear to ear. When he had finished tearing his face, he said, still full of anger: "Now there will be someone who will find you beautiful?"
The favorite victims of Kuchisake-onna are adolescent males. The woman will stop her victim and ask him: "Anata wa watashi ga utsukushii toomoimasu ka?" ("Do you think I'm beautiful?"). If the answer is yes, then Kuchisake-onna will remove the mask revealing the monstrously scarred face. The woman will also insist on the terror and ask: "Sore demo?" ("And now I still am?"). If the answer to this point is no, Kuchisake-onna will kill you by cutting off your head. If you answer yes,she will pull out a sharp pair of scissors and cut your mouth and make you look like her.But there are possibilities of salvation ...
In truth it is not the legend itself that scaries me ... But watching the film and having a certain fear for the mouths very open, it is the image of the mouth that makes me anguish and that strangely struck me ...
