Well, it's 2008.
I spent the evening with my poor and ailing grandmother, which makes me about -72% awesome. She would have been alone otherwise though, and I love her very much, so I am glad I could give her some company. She is currently giving my brain-dead cousin a place to stay, as he has ruined every other source of shelter, and he treats her like crap. It angers me greatly... nothing worse than complete disrespect for someone who has treated you with nothing but care.
Anyway...
I could not be with my dearambellina at midnight, which made me feel slightly empty. She told me shortly after midnight however that 2008 is "our year," which made me smile more than I have in weeks probably, and the empty feeling immediately fell away. It scares me how much I feel for her in such a short amount of time.
What's in store for me in 2008? Finishing college, moving back up north, making love to the most beautiful girl I have ever had the pleasure of meeting and owning my life in all ways possible. 2008 is very much "our year," but it's also mine... my year to shine, to cement my happiness and embrace the optimism I have discovered within myself... I don't have to promise to take charge of my life, I already have, and now it's time to reap the rewards.
