So to recap my weekend: eating and video games. It was such a "boys weekend".
Actually, that wasn't everything that I did, just the vast majority. The drive on Friday was thankfully entirely uneventful... Got to Jon's place, got some quick food, and then headed out to a friend's house to jam. I brought my bass and amp with me. Had some fun out there.. Although I didn't know basically any of the stuff they were playing, I just kind of winged it and still had fun.
We bought so much food on Saturday.. all the fixings for Thanksgiving dinner on Sunday, and also some stuff to bbq on Saturday evening. We picked up another friend, and another one met us at Jon's place. We all set up our computers (I brought THAT with me also!) and set up a network. We had a bunch of games to play.. but we wound up playing Worms Armageddon 95% of the time. I fucking LOVE that game! Especially on a LAN with friends. GoodTimes.
So we just got some fast(ish) food for supper Saturday night, completely forgetting about the stuff we bought to barbeque. We realize this later in the evening, but we were too stuffed to eat it then and planned for lunch the following day. Of course, it wasn't until the next morning that our plan would mean having a massive meal of bbq at lunchtime, followed by a massive meal of turkey at supper. Not that it was a problem exactly, more like a challenge.
So we ate lunch, totally gorged.. and then immediately started in on the turkey. I put bacon on top of it too.. SO GOOD! (sorry vegeterians/vegans in the house!
) We had a few people over to share in the giving of thanks. It was so funny.. as soon as we started eating the place was just SILENT except for eating noises. Signs of a cooking job well done..
The drive back to Toronto on Monday, however, was TERRIBLE. I was stuck in traffic which was even coming to a complete halt fairly regularly for over 80 miles (~130km).. hours!! ugh. I'm trying not to think about it..
Well.. that's enough typin'!
