Well things are looking much better,
tomorrow I am off to Manchester to look at a house to share, the girl that lives there loves dogs and was thinking of getting one herself so she was quite happy to welcome mine.
Its only a 30min walk from oxford road train station so great stuff for me
I am really excited but really really scared about moving.
*edit* and by scared I mean totally shitting myself... I am moving to a city I do not have any friends in, I have no job in, I also have no idea where anything is or how to get around.

i was in a very similar position. though I knew the centre of town reasonably well, I didn't have a job, or know anybody... and I scraped by. So you can do it! If you want a few pointers on how to get around, then feel free to give me a shout
There are plenty of job agencies in the centre of town anyway, so hopefully you'll have some luck there. I've used Manpower in the past (link), and they seemed good so maybe give them a try.
