Oh my gosh! What a day!
At 3pm my other half and I decided to walk our dog to the park. We kept him on the lead until we got to the normal part where we let him off... We let him off and he ran straight for the duck pond and jumped straight in after the duckings.
We pulled him out put him back on his lead and carried on the walk to the open grass and bushes where we let him run free again... he was walking right behind us we where talking turned around and he had vanished into thin air! We called and called and he did not come back, we split up and walked around looking and could not see him anywhere... I started asking people and so many people joined in looking for him... still no luck!
This went on for 10min then my other half yells across to me as I am searching the bushes thinking we had lost him for good. He sounded so scared. I sprinted over half relived half terrified of how the dog was a kid had pointed him out to my other half he was swimming/treading water at the edge of the pond he could not get out because the walls where too high, we pulled him out and his breathing was labored he was shivering and we had to rush him to the vets, luckily by the time we got to the vets he had warmed up quite a bit (thanks to my SG hoodie which is now soaked in pond water)
Luckily he is home and safe and sat on the sofa like nothing happened and the only difference to us is the dint in our credit card for out of hours vet fees! (and they are worth it)
