And Kwik Steel is the most amazing product around! It's lets you weld without all the sparks flying down your shirt and the sunburn. I don't know which fancy science Doctor came up with silly putty that turns to steel but I'm glad they did.
My car is a truck and it's a little old, but "...it's still good." It elicits a lot of Mexican jokes though...
The fun part is that I get to live out that dream I vaguely thought I had that I wanted to be a mechanic. The driver's side door opens from outside only so you have to roll down the window to get out. Good thing summer's coming eh! The first time I parked the truck out front of our house I got locked in.
The Dukes of Hazzard fan in me climbed out the window instead of reaching out and opening the door.
Damn I love that car.
It's Spring!
Cats are fighting in driveways, skanks are parading past the skatepark, barbeque's are firing up and we are hiking in the woods near the stink ass water we call Lake Ontario. More importantly, I've been getting "down on the farm" where I met a small adorable bird from the Arctic who is on route home from Florida. NOW THATS A LONG DRIVE!
Stupid Anagram of the Day
I'm a Farmer and my boyfriend is a Framer
I must be tired as hell, because that anagram is tired as hell and I keep draggin it out to show people. My other half even looked at me like I was short bus when I said it to him. Maybe he doesn't know what an anagram is...
If'n yer reading this I hope you have a glorious, fabulous day out in the world and if your life sucks, just remember. Everything changes, nothing lasts forever (except honey of course) and this to shall pass. If that still doesn't help listen to some Sherwin Sleeves his voice will lull you into a sense of security. His lyrics will possibly make you smile.
Plus, look at this:
Sherwin Sleeves ombudsman, gopher, handyman, internet person, musical assistant, and all around amanuensis. Sherwin lives just up the road from me in the next town over and I visit him once or twice a week to pick up songs or stories or whatever he has to give me.
I dont know a lot about him. He is 79 years old (I think). He moved here a few years ago, arrived by train. I believe he spent much of time working for a traveling theater. He is not married and apparently has no other family.
A frequent question: Does he really do all that walking? Yes! He does do a lot of walking. Even with the cane and a slightly bad leg, he walks more than anyone I know and he doesnt seem to bother with any difference between night or day. Hell set off at midnight for a 10 mile journey to nowhere. From what Ive learned, he doesnt seem to have the least idea where hes heading to when he goes out he just puts on his hat and walks out the door and is suddenly gone.
While Im currently trying to find a job on the radio, Sherwin continues to write songs and music for no real apparent purpose other than he enjoys it.
He doesnt do much work for pay but he is not the enemy of money. If you have voice work or are interested in a song please feel free to contact him at sherwinsleeves(at)yahoo(dot)com.
