So far this Read Recent Posts/View Pics thing has been going rather well. I noticed today that I was instinctively trying to tie their personalities to their image, try to peg the journal-writer to the model. That may simply be because I've been dwelling on this meme overnight.
But I was thinking ... like anything else, journal entries are such a small part of the person when you read them in their entirety, let alone the last 5-20 entries or so. Am I only kidding myself when I think it's going to change the very nature of my subscription, it's not adding any sense of personhood to the image at all, just two incomplete shadows instead of one? Should I cancelling my account in shame?
In the end I think the answer to the last question is no, because there's a time for surface lust that I'd rather have here, where there's at least a manifesto of respect and empowerment. I am what and who I am, and there's only so much I can do. The key is to learn and do more elsewhere.
On a more administrative note ... I'm wondering whether I should apply these musings to my "Favourite Girls" page. Three of them have journals I read, two don't. So far I've been treating journals and photos as separate entities ... should I be taking a more holistic approach? Should I be attracted to the words and looks by themselves or combine them into the appreciation of attractive women?
