Well kiddies, its been a LOOOONG few weeks. Lemme catch you up:
Swing officially opens tomorrow and runs through October 17th. I know I've plugged it way too much as is, but one more won't hurt. The show actually gelled in about a day and a half once we threw in the band (a 12 piece orchestra playing classic swing...is there anything better in this world?), lighting, and costumes. My song (a la Squirrel Nut Zippers) is pretty kickass too, as are the duets I do throughout the show. So yeah. That's pretty much been consuming my life and will continue to until I finish up and start the Moliere piece. The life of a working actor...
Second, my brother had his surgery on thursday of last week (which you might've inferred from past entries or comments). I was pretty nerve wracked, as was the rest of the fam. It was 7 hours, but the bonus was that they were able to remove all of the cancerous material without harming or removing EITHER kidney. So no dialysis for Jay. Yehaw! He's still in a TON of pain, but he's walking around the floor and his hair is growing back now that the chemo is over and done. Its gonna be like this until Janurary...
I feel really bad because I can't go see him. With my manditory class schedule, and the show running from a 6pm call time to the performance end at 11pm, I miss every available hospital hour. I may try to sneak out Wednesday (and granted he's put me through some of the worst shit you can imagine) but I still don't want to be "that brother."
Let's see...anything else? Um...Swing. Check. Cancer. Check. Oh, my booty call at school told me she's fallilng in love with me, that was an interesting one. All this time I spend being a helpless romantic and the one person I divide emotion and sex with is the one that falls head over heels. You women really need to just sit down at a world conference and put together a manual; I don't think even you understand your sex sometimes....anything else? Oh right, Thursday's my 22nd. Yay me, now the only landmark I have to look forward to is 30. Gah.
Peace out world. Leave me love.
oh and PS- I think my Suicidegirls is gonna disappear soon. I have LITERALLY no money in the bank and I did the 3 months gig back in mid July. So if I go bravely into that good night it may be never to return...unless someone wanted to, say, sponsor this irreverant wit o mine for another three months (hint hint)... If not, its been a good run, thanks for the memories, and send me mailing addresses and phone numbers if we're cool like that. If I don't know you...well...that's just awkward. Cheers.
