I am eating my heart out. Last night I grilled it with pepper bacon and made delicious apple curry crepes. Cream sauce as fair as the beauty that whipped it. A bottle of wine. Split a cookie for dessert. She drives. I trust her and save that smile. Asphalt slick with green goes and impatient reds can't find a spot to park we circle again. Hall filled is warm with chestnut, scarves, our cheeks flush. Films follow eliciting half-laughs, heythat's, and a few ooohiknows. James Mercer plays we name songs shift in our seats and it is so perfect. I keep singing snips of melodies trapped and I don't ever want to find my car. Rendezvous aborted at pretentious bar. More merlot and now we have chocolate. Back in my kitchen the pirated guiness cake is forced to fornicate a plain peanut butter. Apples cleanse the palate, waltz a scotch whisky. She refuses, lips puckered, cake makes its escape. I'm in the window white drapes my cape. Dishes done now it's getting late i am growing impatient. The week prior i am just a friend or a canwestillbefriends. She hugs me night I grab her arm and turn her back only to meet chin and cheek, thrown on the curb. She apologizes for leading me on with betrayed eyes. I am eating my heart out.

What do you get when you fall in love? You only get lies, pain, and sorrow.
