Meet a ramdon woman down the streets just now, 4 a.m in the freaking cold city of London. I was walking with one of my colleagues, just at the other side of the road we heard “hey, wait, I promise I’m not a weirdo” we just waited, sometimes you just do. She seemed to be in her 50’s, weak, tiny, blue eyes and really red nose then she just said “thank you for waiting when no one else does, I’m really desperate and this feels so embarrasing for me but I’m homeless and I need to get in a shelter house where they ask you to pay 2 pounds per night…” And just before she finished we were literally looking for change in our pockets, she stoped staring at me and then she said “you know what I’m talking about, don’t you?” Then I got to remember that I’ve been into a similar situation at some point and explained her a bit about it, a few words were enough, she got it so quick. I wish I was living in my own place so I could just take her home for a few bights so she doesn’t have to stay down the streets with this weather. She asked my colleague if he was my boyfriend, we said we are not and then she holded his hands and told him “you take care of this angel, will you do it?” He was just like in shock with the whole situation and confirmed shaking his head a bit, then she hugged me and wished me the best. Her name is Emma and at this point I’m really wishing she gets better and a good roof to cover her, she deserves a good change in her life as her whole story is really hard. Wish her all the best.
This might sound unreal but it happened, when I say I catch the little details I really do, and this kind of thing is something that you keep in mind when you have a home, shower, something to eat or just a few coins in your pocket, it could make they difference to someone else. I really should write more often the kind of things I get, since I came to england I’ve experienced a lot and learning from the good and bad things, keep on learning yet. Blog finished at 4:25
Long boring blog but maybe someone reads it.
