As I work in a centre where we meet people from every single country, this week we had some egyptians, bulgarians, palestinians, etc... so in this group every person had a story to tell, as anyone on here that might be reading this blog but there was a guy that really caught our attention.
Is a guy from Poland, he always wanted to travel but he didn't have money enough so at some point one of his friends decided to move to Mallorca (Spanish Island) and asked him if he would like to join for a month, he did it. He didn't have money because he spent all his money to book the flight and rent the little flat together. The had fun but at the end of the month his friend just went back to Poland and this guy decided to stay on his own, just to try to carry on traveling, he spent times almost with no food, sleeping in people's gardens, old trucks that were open, asking just for water and bread and sometimes with a bit of luck the people gave him more or even invited him to join some family lunch. That was for a while, then he found some job in a factory and had a more or less normal life. At the moment, this guy is traveling once again for free, he doesn't know where he goes, he doesn't know what he wants to do, he said literally "somehow everything will flow."
I spent this whole week just talking to him, love to meet people with really interesting stuff to share, I use to be actually this kind of weirdo who can sit during hours listening to some grandparents at some park, and yes, I enjoy that kind of conversations.
After listening that story about the Polish guy one of my mates just goes like "Oh, I would love to do what he is doing, I think I'll do it, one year traveling for free, so cool" at that moment... I was literally laughing about that stupid comment. Is this kind of girl who is crazy about buying clothes that se doesn't even wear then and is always saying "I'm going to do this or that" but actually never does. I think she's thinking about it in a touristic way, like having some holidays, how cool! isn't it? but come on, has she ever thought about how would it be? not having nothing to eat some days, sleeping somewhere that is not a comfy bed, having shower everyday if you're lucky, NOT buying clothes... I think we should really try to be realistic about that, not every single person would sourvive in that situation because we are not able to change the comfy lifestyle we have, we are kinda spoiled in a way. Is she going to do it? don't think so but meanwhile I'll just observe how she talks and talks while I enjoy gardening in this beautiful place:
