I finally tried oatmeal for the first time ever two days ago.

Trying to introduce it into my life/diet as an option for breakfast or a snack. We'll see.
I threw some milk, brown sugar, and cinnamon in there.

You should try it with some nuts, like pecans or walnuts. Put them in when it's cooking, not at the last minute, so they cook too and the texture of the nut gets softer. And cinnamon and brown sugar are a must.
