when i was three my mom took me to get my booster shots. she tells me this story whenever i feel hurt or let down:
"i sat you down on the little bench and the doctor came in to give you your shots.
you were scared and shy so you wouldn't look at him.
so he crouched down on his knees and looked up at you to tell you everything would be okay and it wasn't going to hurt too bad...
but instead he fell silent and turned to me and said:
'if this little girl grows up to have almond shaped eyes, she's going to break every heart in the world.'
and then a few minutes later when he gave you the shot, you turn towards him quicky and decked him in the face with a closed fist as hard as you could. haha. But his utter shock turned into a slight smile and he turn towards me again and said:
'Ha... it looks like this little girl isn't going to take crap from anyone."
so every time you look in the mirror and feel sad or hurt, just focus real hard on your almond eyes and your strong heart and remember that doctors are always right."
but i'm thinking sometimes old stories your mom likes to tell about nice doctors don't heal a damn thing.
plus too...doctors are notorious for malpractice.
