See a penny / pick it up / all day long you'll have good luck.
You know, when you shred your life and begin the process of regining equilibrium, you've got to have a mantra. Some ritual that keeps you moving and hopeful that you're gonna do it.
So along I go, scanning the ground for copper coins, hopeful that they are clues to the path. Like the crumbs dropped by Hansel and Grettel, only to be picked up by birds and other passers by.
When it all came together, it was amazing. A feeling of lucidity and awareness I may not have felt before. Learn to priorize. End the hypocrisy. Solve your own problems first. You can't fix the broken. I could go on, but eight months of therapy doesn't fit in a box this size.
And then you hear it. An opportunity that is what you have been dreaming about. Is it real or another pipe dream? Shit, I am probably just drunk. I won't remember any of this on Monday.
But then I look down. And right at my feet, resting on the harwood floor is my freind Abe. Coined into copper. And darn shiny, too. I couldn't have noticed him any other way in a room this dark.
11:58? That's not much time left in this day. Unless it really is a new day. I'll take it either way. What other choice do I have? It's not a dream, it's a destiny.
