Personally, I just reckon Gerard used the whole thing to gain the upper hand in contract talks "if you don't want me, I know plenty who do" etc. Overall I'm glad to see him stay at 'pool, I reckon he's a very good player but I don't really see what he'd bring to Chelsea.
