I haven't posted lately because I never seem to have anything worthwhile to post. My life really isn't exciting enough to warrant daily or weekly posts. much of everything is unchanging and constant. However I made something the other day that I decided was post worthy, at least for my vegan friends.
The Vegan Holiday Cheeseball! Yea, I made a cheeseball the other day, much like those cheesy nutty balls that come out during the holiday season and you smear onto crackers. So here goes
6 slices of Tofutti cheese
1 package of tofutti better than cream cheese
mix well with a beater or better yet a food processor until it's nice and smooth
Now time for the seasonings. Obviously you can season with whatever the hell you want, but here is what I put in mine:
3 tablespoons bacos (Bacos are vegan, and make this cheeseball so delicious)
2 tablespoons parsley,
2 tablespoons finely chopped mixed nuts
1 teaspoon dried chopped onion
1 teaspoon garlic,
a few dashes of salt
and I also put cilantro in mine to give it a bit of kick, but if you're not into food that bites back, I don't recommend it.
mix in spices gently with a fork, spreading evenly throughout your cheese
form your final mixture into a ball and roll it around in either a seasoning mix or nut mix. (I used a combination of parsley and cilantro) but I think sliced almonds would be tasty too.
Refrigerate for about 2 hours and it's good to go.
It's super easy, super good, and total prep time took me about 15 minutes, and I was winging it. Enjoy.
