Ugh. I just got home from grocery shopping and getting ready for the superbowl. We've had family and friends over for years and although we hadn't planned on doing it this year our friends assumed we were.
So I'm pulling it together kind of last minute and doing much less than in years past. I think I'd be more excited about it if I was going to someone else's place. Much less effort involved plus I don't feel obligated to engage with people I don't have anything in common with to watch a sport I don't understand.
Aside from all that I had a great time yesterday with some of the local SG gang. Minibeanie and Woodstock and I started out at McMenamins and then met up with Molonel, Tall, Biscayne, PaoloDeSade, d23, and a couple others.
The bummer was that walking out the door I passed SamSlade and I didn't get a chance to hang out and have a beer with him.
Tonight everyone is going ice skating and I would go in a heartbeat if Tom wasn't sick and whiney about watching the kids. At first I thought it would be fun to maybe take a flask of something and make it more interesting if I did end up going skating. But then I thought that it might be dangerous considering the fact that I haven't skated in ages and even if I was doing okay on my own there are other people in even worse shape cruising around too.
Anyway... I hope everyone has a safe and happy superbowl weekend.
