Well I met with the President/CEO/Owner of the fishy company this morning. We talked for about 90 minutes (much longer than the recruiter was expecting) and I had a great feeling about it. Later today they have several other interviews so I didn't really know what to expect until I talked to the recruiter again and he mentioned that I was the leading candidate already.
So... I think it's in the bag. I also met with the controller and feel that it is a good fit personality and skill-wise. So cross your collective fingers and wish me luck!!!

I'm personally apologizing in everyone journals who I slighted with my ignorant usage of slang that I hear everyday in this new city and had no idea was considered rascist. The reaction was pretty much what I'd expect though and all the shitty email I'm getting is pretty ironic considering the theme of my original post. Instead of trying to correct me, I'm as asshole, a racist and so on... Attack first and ask questions later is the name of the game here I guess. Sorry for being such a "jerk."

I'm part Salish (not surprising given that I'm from Western Montana) and know what you mean. The "pow wow" thing has never bugged me, but there are things that do. And I guess those things should bug everyone, just not those with a particular blood quantum. Western Montanans talk about the Salish-Kootenai reservation likes its something out of Mad Max or something with out acknowledging the true problems on the reservation. Yes, alcoholism is rampant there and the roads are dangerous -- but nobody wants to try to help, they'd rather just disparage. And honestly, they wouldn't even care if they didn't all have "cabins," which are actually million dollar second houses on the land. Those are the things that bug me about my heritage (even if it's only 1/8th).
