Maybe it's because I'm getting older and facing my 29th birthday next week. Maybe I'm just in a funk.
When I see members ages listed I automatically feel a disconnect when I see that someone is under 25. I suppose that's agism... but maybe it's more than that. I've got a mortgage... I've got kids... I've got a life insurance policy and tons of crap. My life is no longer carefree and my wanderlust has been snuffed out (temporarily) by the realities of my current life.
When I think of young people I think of waking up late on the weekends, drinks with friends mid week, hip clothes, road trips, etc. It's been so long since I had the time or the money to afford those luxuries, so I suppose I assume that our worlds don't meet.
Is that silly? Maybe it is... I'm just in a mood right now.

I'm right there with you girlie! I've felt that way since I passed the 3-0 and didn't look back. I should get some sort of ticket for that, I went by so fast!

Kids, yes, I suppose that would change the dynamic a bit. Of course every time I think this I read Blyss's journal, and realize that even in her 30's with kids, her life makes mine look like it's standing still. She's always involved in some exciting adventure it seems. I think life is what you make of it, and hardly any intervening circumstance will change that unless you allow it to.
