Spring break is not so much fun this year. Yesterday I had a 7:00 am breakfast meeting with a partner at a law firm I have been interviewing with. Mind you, this is right after the time change and I was EXTRA
when we met.
Then today, with the sun shining brightly and the temp a balmy 62 or so, I am stuck taking some skill tests for another employer and then running the kids around. Bryce had a dental appt and that was loads of fun.
But the concerning part was taking Waylon to his new doctor for his heel pains. I was right (of course) and my ex husband's theory that he is just wearing ill fitting shoes is completely off base. He's got this condition called Sever's disease or calcaneal apophysitis (inflammation of the growth plate).
Now he's off sports completely for three weeks and has to take advil and ice his heel daily. We go to see the podiatrist soon and he'll be fitted for some heel inserts for his shoes for the long term treatment.
The bummer is that his first little league game of this season is coming up and he'll have to warm the bench. Plus we don't get to do the Zoo trip and the hike I had planned for this week since he needs to let this heal before he goes back to school next week.
The good news is I looooooove his new doctor! We talked about everything from Cecilia Firethunder bringing a clinic to Pine Ridge to Tom Delay to his high school girlfriends. I love it when you find someone who you can talk to and they just "get it."
