Saint Sebastian
Patron Saint of Archers, atheletes and fags.
My fav Saint
And since we are fast approaching All Saints Day, I will sound off on some of my favorite saints.
A little backround info.
St Sebastian was martyred around 300ad. He became the one of the most important saints in the Christian world in the middle ages. He was a pretorian guard, a high rank in the roman army. His emperor, Diocletian, was very fond of him (more on that later), so Diocletian was heartbroken when the young Sebastian confessed his faith in the Christian god. Diocletian ordered Sebastian to be killed by a firing squad of archers. He received many arrows to his body, and was left for dead. Another Saint, Irene, came to his aid and nursed him back to life. Once again, Sebastian went to plead with his beloved emperor, to accept the faith, but Diocletian was unmoved, and sent his beloved Sebastian to be beaten by clubbing. And so Sebastian was Martyred for the faith, a proud servant of his God and his Emperor. Many tales speak of the forbidden love of Sebastian and the Emperor, and his lithe and smooth young body, draped in a mere wisp of fabric, would become the muse for many renaissance artists. He would be identified with the plague, whose scars resemble the scars of arrows. And so too is he remembered today to many fags around the world, who have identified Sebastian with the modern plague of AIDS. The beautiful and young Sebastian, died for his faith, and thus became a Saint, whose worship extends around the world, for more than a 1000 years.
Heres lookin at you Sebastian.
