A few days ago, Vorpal suggested some new homework for us on the hopefulsuicidegirls instagram. The challenge: pick your personal favourite photo from any of our current sets and talk about what makes it special.
Whenever I think about my favourite set I always automatically go to my set Hokeo by @venom
There are many photos in this set that make my heart feel light and fancy free, but if I had to choose a single image that sums up everything in a single moment that created that set would probably be this one:
This photo itself embodies my physical transformation over the past few years, and displays what has become one of my most precious permanent pieces of artwork. In my mind this picture shows my strength and inspiration, in part in somehow makes me feel like I was channeling my inner bad ass and flexibility like the person who was photographing me.
We named this set Hokeo because it means sweet heart, but Hokeo is also a Hawaiian verb that means to love secretly.
When we shot this set, this set truly started off the year fresh for me, with a sense of optimism and positive outlook that the rest of the year had in store. Barely a few weeks into the year I had gotten to meet a model that inspires me, I met a fellow hopeful that could possibly have turned into a bestie, I got to see the ocean and visit two beautiful San Diego resorts. I felt on top of the world, and that I could conquer just about anything.
I feel that the tone that was set in this room, resonate throughout the entire year for me.
I hope you enjoyed reading this blog, as I did telling you about it.
xoxo
