I am SO pissed off with the smallmindedness, intolerance and refusal to see sense of the majority of people in this country at the moment.
Apparently footballers swearing at each other is the reason for the "youth of today's" unruly behaviour, according to todays papers. Really? Last year you told me it was because of violent videogames, before that it was horror movies. The country's social problems were caused first by Freddy Cruger, then Mortal Kombat, now Wayne Rooney.
Not by underfunding in the social infrastructure, education and job creation by the government. Not by the doctrines of neoliberalism and the hangover of Thatcherism causing kids to be brought up in a self obsessed, no-one-is-more-important-than-me-so-fuck-you intolerant and selfish society. Not by the media spreading lies and bullshit and making everyone so confused they dont know what the fuck is going on anymore. No, we're all out of control because people whos job it is to kick a ball around a pitch call each other names on TV. Oh of course, why didnt I see that earlier?
I am spending more and more of my time dreaming of the day when I can leave this cesspit of ignorance and deliberate misunderstanding for somewhere new. Where people act like fucking adults and work together to find real solutions for chronic problems and where I dont feel like the only sane person in a country full of absolute morons.
God I need a holiday, thank fuck I'm going to Berlin next week, another week in this place would drive me INSANE.
