Just got back from beautiful Prague. I was feeling a bit shit so booked a cheap flight and jetted off for 3 days. I was going to go in the summer but poland kicked ass and i stayed there for a bit longer instead. I loved prague, its sombre and beautiful and dramatic but also has a bit of seediness to it. Thought parts were a bit too touristy but loved mala strana, the cubist museum at house of the black madonna and the quiet little streets in josefov/stare mesto. I wandered round thre on my own on monday night in the dark, it was hauntingly beautiful. Must go back again soon.
Things were going badly a few weeks ago but are better now, thanks to medication and counselling. Panic attacks are becoming less frequent though I still get the odd moments of despair, but they're becoming more managable.
My hair is now blue/black but my funky style is beginning to grow out and look crap. Think I'll lighten it then dye it blue soon.
Uni is pretty shit, god I hate essays! Thank god for Italian class keeping me sane! I'm picking it up really quick now, helped no end by my italian mates sending me texts and letters to keep my interest sustained. One in particular has been sending me some beautiful things.
"Penso a te e la vita e'migliore"........
Beautiful.
Been looking at European Voluntary Service placements in Italy for when I graduate. I SO want to live in Bologna. Its amazing. But also looking at Genoa and Pisa. All depends on the project I suppose. I want to work with refugees so it depend where I can get a placement. I've been doing lots of work with the No Borders group here helping a Bangladeshi woman called Naeema Maznura who was a political author who fled her home due to persecution. Shes amazing, shes been through rape, torture, homelessness and god knows what else but is still so strong and spirited. A true inspiration.
I'm not going to metion United. Apart from the fact that from next week I'll be doing voluntary work for Shareholders United, keeping our football club safe for generations to come. And getting to perve on the fit lads who are involved
Friday I went to see Moodymann who was AMAZING! Also went to see Recloose the friday before, my Detroit addiction has been getting some satisfaction lately!
Recent buys- the new Le Tigre and Interpol albums (Pretty good but not spectacular), and Johnny Cash, The Slits, Bauhaus and Kraftwerk vinyl that I've been meaning to get for ages. Oh, and the Jungle Book soundtrack. I'm still a kid at heart
