The afterglow from my summer of travel has now completely faded away, and i am back in the real world of starting work at 7am and having to move house. But never mind, I'm off to plastic people in london on saturday, yeah! I've been wanting to go to this club for AGES, last time my mates went down when they were djing there i couldn't go as i had to finish my Zapatistas essay and they all came back saying its the best club they've ever been to! But now I'm finally going! Yessss!
This has sort of been counterbalanced by some very shit news - le tigre are playing in the UK in october and i wont be able to go! How fucking devastating is that! Coz they are supporting the shitty scissor sisters and all the tickets have gone.
It was looking like it could be the best saturday in ages - they are playing in birmingham, which, massively amazingly coincidentally, are united on the same day! So I thought, "nice one, I can go watch united in the day, go see le tigre in the night, have an afternoon in a city ive never been to before and take advantage of my work discount card to get a room for 15 in the 4* burlington hotel and spend the night in a bit of luxury, perfect!"
But no - they are playing with that pile of overhyped shit that is the scissor sisters, and the gig has completely sold out! How shit is that - I only want to see the support band, i'll leave before the main act even come on. Bollocks. So fucking unfair - they are playing in london as well but i cant get down there when they are on. I cant believe this. I wait for ages for them to come over, and when they do they dont even play a proper gig. Huh.
Weekend was good - john came to bluu on saturday night with the photos from our european adventure, it was good to see tham but it made me all sad and gutted we aren't still there. Never mind, theres plenty to look forward to - not too long til I go to New York, and then Berlin. But I want to travel NOW!!! I dint want to be in one place! Its too restrictive! right I'm off to look for some cheap flights during reading week!
