I watched the first hour of Syriana today. If you haven't seen my MySpace blog you should know that I talk about Iran, Israel, and the Middle East a lot. Lately I've been discussing other things, though. I'm deeply interested in what the U.S. does to make the world a more dangerous place. I always focus on our government but I suppose I should really be laying the blame at the feet of People in Power in general. Our government is but one player (albeit a powerful one) in a veritable World Cup of fucking people over. I can't look too deeply into such things because the important information is held by people who are way beyond my social sphere. It's frustrating. I think a significant reason for the modern malaise is the sense everyone of us has that we are pawns in games we know nothing about. I think democracy and capitalism has done little but throw a bone to the masses and increase the number of people involved in international intrigue.
