So I'm currently going on 4 years since I've been in anything resembeling a relationship. I've spent the last 4 years chasing after one will-o-the-wisp of a girl after another, only to be continually stuck in the friend zone. Why do girls insist on sticking people in there. I know that not every girl i meet is going to be a compatible match for me, and I know that I'm a great friend (I've been told so about 20 time in the last couple of years), but I mean come on! I don't know what I'm doing wrong, or if its even me thats doing something wrong.
Over the last year or so, i've been slowly falling into a greater and greater depression (not the suicidal type, just a prolonged funk). This last 3 months since I've moved into my own apartment, I've been rejected by at least one prospective girl a weekend. I acctually managed to get rejected 4 times in one weekend last week. The worst though was the first weekend.
My first weekend in the apartment, I invited over a girl I've been talking to for almost 5 years online. We've developed a very close relationship (at one point she even wanted me to take her virginity [didn't end up working out that way, which was polly a good thing]), and she was living fairly close to me, so I wanted to see how things would turn out between us. Not only did she "not feel a spark and just wanted to be friends," she had called my roommate (who she's known for about 8 years) to ask him how to tell me. Took her 2 weeks to tell me herself. And about half a week after that i found out that she and my roommate realized that they were still atracted to eachother.
My roomie and i talked about it and he decided that he was n't ging to go after her because he didnt' want to ruin their or our friendships, but it still doesn't do me any good. So damn near every weekend since then i've tried to move on, i've tried to find other oportunities, but so far, strike after strike.
Sorry for the long rant, but the last couple of weeks have been scarily depressing and i had to vent somewhere, and this is the only place i can do so with out having my friends hear it again.
