I am having very mixed emotions about postponing the wedding. One minute I'm happy that I'll be able to have everything the way that we want it. the next minute, I am seconds away from saying screw it we're just hitting a justice of the peace, not tell anyone, and we'll have a real ceremony later. A few minutes after that I am on the verge of tears that I have to wait until next October. It doesn't help that the change of seasons always fucks with my emotions, and I'm nearly a basketcase anyway. *sigh* I hate having anything resembling drama in my life.
Good news time!
1. The Girls are doing great! Brit was discharged from the hospital the day before her 13th birthday. Until Danielle is discharged, Brit will be doing rehab at the hospital in Providence. Danielle had to have another surgery, but is recovering well and is enjoying not having her sister in the room. She sees this as a setback, but this is so far ahead of where the doctors thought they would be. It has only been 5 weeks since they were shot, and one is out of the hospital, and the other is up and around. We can't thank everyone enough for all of your prayers/thoughts/positive energy/etc. Fundraising is going great! As well as the girls are doing they are going o be in rehab for quite a long time after getting out of the hospital. And (mental) therapy will be a big part of that. There is a long road ahead but because of the generosity of so many people, how to pay for it all won't be a concern.
2. My dad is going to come up to MA this month anyway. I love spending time with my dad. We always have a great time. I have to remind him to bring back some 100% Kona coffee for the coffee addicts at work. They have only ever had Kona blends, so I told them I'd try and get them the real thing.
3. I love my new job. I don't think I can stress this enough. I don't dread going to work in the morning. My only reason for not wanting to leave the house is my recent lack of sleep. I like the people I work with. I like the clothes. I like that it is only 4 miles from my house. I like the company. So this is what it is like to like your job... I can get used to this.
4. My Pats are 5-0! And we only have a couple tough games on the schedule this year (thanks to our division sucking.) This is the first time I can remember watching Pats games and being relaxed thru them. I'm not on the edge of my seat. I'm not biting my fingernails, and I'm not having mini heart attacks every drive. I can get used to this.
5. Can't talk about the Pats without mentioning the Red Sox! It is a great thing to sweep your way into the ALCS. And the fact that the Yankees are down 3-1 (and 2-0) helps. Lots!
I can't promise that I'll ge back to all of your comments, but I am going to try. Especially since I have Tuesday off to do it.
