When I was 15, the only thing I ever asked my mom for, as any type of present, was a claddah ring. When I made my confirmation later that year, that was the gift she got me. It was the only time that I asked her for something that I actually got. And it was perfect too. I have long thin fingers, so most rings look funny on me. She must have looked for such a long time to find this one. It almost looked like a child size one. Jump ahead 8 years, as I move out of her house to move in with my (at the time) fiance. She actually labeled the furniture in my daughter's and my room to let me know what I couldn't take. I was so happy to finally be away from her house (well 2 miles away anyway) I had my ring resized the day I had my engagement ring sized since I normally wore my claddah on that finger. The second night I was gone I lost my claddah ring. We tore every room apart looking for it, and went thru every bag of trash we had, just in case. I never found it. And I still don't have a new one.
I don't even know what made me remember that story, but I don't remember ever telling anyone before.

Basically, I love them because the team centers around speed, defense and good pitching. They only have two or three legitimate power threats, but they have four or five guys who could go up there and whack a triple or steal some bases. HR's are boring! It's all about the good young rotation, blazing speed and sure-handed defense!
