So tonight was a total bust...not like I ever have exciting plans though.

Due to various family member obligations, it was just me and my old man out for dinner. I was slightly anxious about it, seeing as we hardly ever talk, but it went suprisingly well. Later, he and I got into his 67 GTO and drove around for a bit. For some reason, I enjoy rides in that car, especially this late in summer, when twilight gives way to starlight.

KC ended up spending 12 bucks on candy and imitation soda pop this evening for the two of us. I only had a few suckers and downed have a 2-litre of Dr. Bold. How fucking awesome is that? Dr. Bold!!! Yes!!!

Oddly enough, the two of us both made strides in our female dealings. KC finally told Jaime off tonight with a series of cuss words and defamitory phrases. I guess he's been hanging out with me too much. As for me, I picked up the phone and gave Taryn a call. She was at the fair and is leaving for Missoula tomorrow for some early class. But, she said that I should call her in Missoula and we'll get together and hang out and get married and have children. shocked Ok, I'm an effing dork. But still, I hope there is some promise to this, even if we don't find much to date over, I'd still love to add another friend to my list. This lonely heart grows weary in college.

Bullshit. In one week I'll be driving back to Missoula.

Now that I finally get to it, I'll do my little thing about the cds I purchased a while ago. Most of them turned out well, though Red Sparowes was suprisingly softer than I imagined. I guess I was expecting more Isis like growling, but there's nary a vocal to be heard, save for Stephan Hawking preaching about something in the universe. Really impressed with the material Pelican put out too. All in all, they were decent purchases, but I do have a beef with A Silver Mt. Zion:

Now I know they like to "evolve" and "change" and all that "we're not going to make the same album twice" bullshit. But goddamn, so much wasted talent, in my opinion. The vocals, God, I just can't get past them. With "This is Our Punk Rock" I was able to just sit and let the music pass through me, experiencing what it had to offer. But with "Pretty Little" and "Horses" I just can't get into that mindset again. And the political statements? Yeah. Maybe they'll enlist Zach De La Roche on the next album. mad If a band like this sets its sights on forcing a politcal album, then yeah, I hope it would sound like shit.

Don't get me wrong, I used to absolutely love ASMZ, and "He Has Left Us..." is quite possibly the most beautiful, if not emotionally bleak album I have ever heard. It's a gorgeous, sweeping record that I'll charish and expecting the same output is a little naive, but I hoped they would have returned to some of their roots.

My cd wishlist is growing exponentially, though my money is best spent elsewhere. Like new clothes and a new hood for my car.

a hood to your car would probably be a good buy. I mean, you got to keep that engine covered and all. don't want to look like some trashy ass fuckwad driving around. that could be a cockblock in itself. haha

it's good KC aka chi-mo is now done with that little jailbait slut. maybe he can deal with chicks that actually matter i.e. have the right right to vote.
