Nah. Gotta look at this from a positive perspective. Every horrible thing about this film is simply one more nail in the coffin of Halle Berry's career. If it tanks badly (and we're talking Ishtar level badly), perhaps I won't have to see her stumble her way through roles ever again. I shudder to think of the endless Jinx previes we may yet have to endure.
But seriously, lifting the lines verbatim did irk me a little. I'm sure it's only the first thing about the film that's been lifted from a better one.
If you found vol. 1 boring, you'll probably want to wait until video to watch vol. 2. It seems that the films either work for someone or they don't. If the first part didn't work for you, the second probably won't either. Wait until you can catch them both together in a setting where you can fast forward if need be. I liked 'em, but taste is arbitrary.

I think Madman and Red Rocket 7 had those same themes, though. They were just more subtle about it, or using metaphor in place of actual religions. I think I'm going to check it out.
I tend to think of religions as neat ideas that people take way too seriously, sort of like the lady who had plastic surgery to look like Xena, from Bruce Campbell's documentary about fans.
